During the development process of Microsoft’s Windows Phone 7 OS, one of the most prominent prototypes seen was a Samsung handset that is based on the i8910 HD. The resulting product, however, does not have the physical similarities to the prototype, which is a good thing.
The Samsung Omnia 7 features a 4-inch WVGA Super AMOLED screen (similar to the Galaxy S smartphone), a Snapdragon processor (a rarity in Samsung), a 5-megapixel camera, and user’s choice of 8GB or 16GB storage. It is expected to be launched in time for the holidays on Orange in United Kingdom, SFR in France, Movistar in Spain and possibly Latin America, and T-Mobile across Europe.
