Will Firefox 4.0 for Mac Have Hardware Acceleration?

Mozilla is said to be a few tweaks away from completing its Firefox version 4.0, which goes by the codename Minefield. What makes it even more interesting is that the Mac version of the browser is said to be incorporated with hardware acceleration.

An upcoming beta for Mac users, Firefox 4.0 b7, may have hardware acceleration. This feature would speed up rendering time of certain web pages, like those that contain video. However, recent tests have seen hardware acceleration to actually slow the rendering of certain sites by up to 6 percent.

Let us wait whether hardware acceleration will indeed pop up in the actual Firefox 4.0.
