Car maker Volkswagen in entering the fray by announcing its Volkswagen Last Mile Surfer Electric Scooter.
The Volkswagen Last Mile Surfer Electric Scooter is another entry by a known automaker into the growing number of portable personal transports. The VW Last Mile Surfer is a folding electric scooter that can fit in the trunk of a car. This makes it as a fitting alternative for moving around when driving a car makes it impossible. It also helps people conveniently finish the last stage of any trip from origin to the final destination. People now have an alternative to walking the distance from the parking lot to the supermarket without having to walk that distance back and forth. With the VW Last Mile Surfer, that last mile travel becomes more convenient.
The Volkswagen Last Mile surfer is a three-wheeled standing electric scooter that weighs just around 24 pounds or 11 kilos. It folds to a compact form to make it easy to store when not in use. It can go at a distance of 12.4 miles on a single charge. The VW Last Mile Electric Scooter is expected to go on sale in 2016 and is expected to cost around 1,000 Euros or somewhere around $1,500.
