US Cellular Releases Its Own Samsung Galaxy S

US Cellular tends to have a habit of releasing new phones when every other wireless carrier has introduced the same phone weeks ago, which is why it is not surprising why it is only now the company unveils its own variation of the Samsung Galaxy S (the fifth one after AT&T’s Captivate, Vibrant from T-Mobile, Verizon’s Fascinate, and Sprint Epic 4G) that goes by the nickname “Mesmerize.”

Based on the specs, its closest cousin would be the Vibrant. Both phones have four-inch Super AMOLED display, 5-megapixel rear camera, and 1GHz CPU. Like the Vibrant, the US Cellular Mesmerize does not have a front-facing camera or a slide-out QWERTY keyboard that other models have.

Reports say that the Samsung Mesmerize will be available in stores beginning October 27 for US$199, which comes with a two-year contract and a $80 mail-in rebate.
