Two Hisense Sero 7 Tablets Unveiled

China-based electronics manufacturer Hisense, known for its high-performing yet low-priced tablets and TV panels, has introduced its two new entry-level tablets. The Hisense Sero 7 Pro and Sero 7 Lt, priced at $149 and $99 respectively, are set to take on Google Nexus 7 tablet.

Unveiled during a recent press conference in New York City, the Hisense Sero 7 Pro tablet features a 7-inch touchscreen with 1280 x 800 high-definition resolution, a 1.3GHz quad-core NVIDIA Tegra 3 processor, Android 4.2 Jelly Bean, 1GB of RAM, 8GB of internal memory, and a couple of cameras (a 5-megapixel rear-facing imager and a 2-megapixel front-facing shooter). The device comes Bluetooth-enabled and is equipped with near-field communication technology (NFC).

Meanwhile, the Sero 7 Lt also has a 7-inch touchscreen, but comes with watered-down inside specs like the 1.6GHz dual-core processor, Android 4.1 Jelly Bean, 1GB of RAM, 4GB of internal memory, and a 0.3-megapixel front-facing camera.

Both the Hisense Sero 7 Pro and the Sero 7 Lt tablets are available beginning today at Walmart stores.

Founded in 1969, Hisense has shipped over 10 million television panels in 2012 and has earned $2 billion of sales revenue. The company has been the number one television panel brand since 2004 and has been setting its sights on the United States market.
