USB gadget manufacturer Thanko updated its video camera button with new features such as sound recording. Now, not only your can disguise a spy camera as a shirt button, you can be assured that the conversation between you and the drug dealer is recorded-just in case you volunteer as a police informer.
The spy camera can shoot videos in AVI format with 720 x 480 resolution at 30 frames per second, as well as still photos in JPEG form measuring 1,280 x 1,024 resolution. It weighs a mere 20 grams and runs on lithium-ion battery that can last for up to 70 minutes video footages. You can simply push a button, and pretend you are fixing your shirt, to start recording. However, it does not have internal memory, so you need a hand microSD card (up to 16GB) to save your spy files.
All files can be transferred to PC with the help of a USB cord, but so far this spy camera only supports Windows XP, Vista, and 7.
The Thanko Spy Button Camera is only available in Japan for 4,980 yen (about US$55). International buyers may want to try importer sites, but expect a higher price due to shipping and taxes.
