Thanko Puts HD Video Recording on Sunglasses

We’ve seen this in one or two cop shows where informants would wear sunglasses that are attached with hidden cameras. They look cool, but we have yet to see something like that being sold for consumers, until now.

Thanko, famous for making spy gadgets, comes up with HD Video Camera Sunglasses. This devices lets users record video files in AVI format with 1,280 x 720 resolutions at 30 frames per second, all while wearing it. The glasses can also take JPEG photos with 4,032 x 3,024 resolution. The files are stored in microSD cards of up to 32GB capacity and can be transferred to a computer by USB 2.0 connection. Thanko claims that 1.4GB of storage is all a user needs to record up to 10 minutes of HD video. Whether it would look good on you is still debatable.

The Thanko HD Video Camera Sunglasses are already available on Thanko’s online store, costing about $74. It is only sold in Japan, but overseas buyers may want to check out Japanese gadget sites and see if they can be shipped to their doorstep.
