Gigaset may not be a familiar brand to you, but you may have used one of its cordless phones in the office. These days, the Germany-based company is catching up with the times with its first tablet models.
The new Gigaset tablets consist of the 8-inch QV830 and the 10-inch QV1030, both sporting a high-end aluminum casing and run on stock Android 4.2. The 10-inch model comes with a 1.8GHz quad-core Tegra 4 processor, 2500 x 2600 screen resolution, 16GB of expandable storage, an 8-megapixel rear-facing camera, and a 1.2-megapixel front cam.
Meanwhile, the 8-inch version comes with less-than-stellar specifications. This gadget sports a 1.2GHz quad-core MediaTek processor, 1024 x 768 display resolution, 8GB of expandable storage, a 5-megapixel rear camera, and a 1.2-megapixel front shooter.
Both Gigaset tablets will be available in Germany by early December, starting at 199 euros for the QV830 and 369 euros for the high-end model. No confirmation yet on a possible American launch, but it is highly unlikely.
