At the 80th Geneva Motor Show, Tata Motors of India debuts an electric version of its prominent model, the Nano . The Tata Nano EV (short for Electric Vehicle) uses the same platform of the traditional Nano, can seat four adults, and has a set of “super polymer lithium ion batteries” that power the car.
The Tata Nano EV can run up to 160 kilometers on a single charge and can accelerate from 0-60 kilometers per hour in under 10 seconds. It may not sound impressive, but hey, it’s an electric car .
Tata Motors plan to put the Nano EV into production alongside the Indica Vista EV, which will be on sale in Europe later in the year. No word on the pricing yet, but we expect it to be cheap.
