Sony Launches First Google TV Powered HDTV

Sony has recently announced that it is introducing the Sony Internet TV, the world’s first HDTV powered by Google TV. It aims to merge television and the Web seamlessly into one device.

According to Sony, this new product would be the very first HDTV in the world to combine high definition television viewing and full Internet search to provide a unique entertainment experience. The Sony Internet TV can both provide the usual TV broadcasts along with streaming video from the Web. This new product is built on the Android platform and runs the Google Chrome browser. It comes with an Intel Atom processor and features Dual View mode to allow users to watch television even while surfing on the Web. The Sony Internet TV is now available at Sony with the smallest model at the 24-inch class costing around US$600.
