Known for being handy and user friendly, the Cyber-shot series has also always been a stylish yet powerful gadget, thus the luxurious price tag.
But with the release of what has been labeled as "the most affordable Cyber-shot to date", Sony Ericsson hopes to further push the popularity of the Cyber-shot series.
Design
The Sony C150 Cyber-shot has a simple yet sleek exterior, echoing the aesthetics of the previous Sony Ericsson phones, as well as the "brushed steel" look of the Cyber-shot cameras (at the back/sliding camera cover). It is slim and light, with evenly spaced keys and handy shortcut buttons.
Features
The Phone features are quite basic, with a fairly sized 2.2 inch screen (262,144 colour TFT, scratch resistant). It is equipped with the essential Cyber-shot features, namely, the 3.2 megapixel camera, Smile Shutter, Face detection, and all the basics. Users can upload videos to Youtube, upload photos directly to their online blog, or order prints through HP Snapfish straight from the unit (without having to transfer the files to a computer using memory cards or cables).
Its internal memory reaches 160 Mb built-in memory, and is expandable with Memory Stick MicroTM (M2TM). Its battery is capable of up to 10 hours of GSM/GPRS talk time, or 400 hours on standby. It can play MP3/AAC, or FM radio, utilizing features like Mega Bass and Bluetooth stereo.
With minimal phone and media functions,the C150 is not as powerful as other mobile phones, nor are its camera specs comparable to the Cyber-Shot digital cameras, however, it promises to make up with it’s significantly lower price tag, which is good news to all the people who always wanted to have a Cyber-shot camera phone.
According to the press release, the Sony Ericsson C510 Cyber-shot mobile phone will be available in selected markets in the first quarter of 2009 and will come in the following colors: Future Black and Radiation Silver.
