Snow Goggles with Built-In Camera from Liquid Image

Snow Goggles with Camera

Sacramento-based Liquid Image announces the release of its Summit Series Snow Camera Goggles, which they claim as the world’s first snow goggles with an integrated digital camera.

The snow goggles contains a five-megapixel camera with wide-angle lens (2560 x 1920 resolution) that can capture a wide range of environment as the user skis, snowboards, sleds, or even rides a snowmobile.  It also comes with a video mode that can record 720 x 480 video clips with audio at 30 frames per second, as well as a 16MB internal memory that can be expanded to 16GB using a SD card slot.

Operating the goggles is pretty easy.  Simply turn the Mode button, which also turns the power on and off, then press the shutter button to record videos or capture images.  The camera is powered by an internal rechargeable lithium batter that promises to last up 2200 still images or more than 2 hours of video.

The Summit Series Snow Camera Goggles from Liquid Image is expected to become available by late Summer 2010, in time for Winter Ski season.  Prices will start at US$149.
