Siemens Introduces The Aquaris Waterproof Hearing Aid

Siemens has recently introduced a new type of hearing aid meant to be used by the hearing impaired in almost any type of conditions. Current hearing aids may have certain limitations as to where people may be able to use them. Considered as a sensitive device, most hearing aids today may not be worn while in the water. The new Siemens Aquaris hearing aid may probably be the first device of its kind to be built with a certain level of toughness.

The new Siemens Aquaris hearing aid is designed with a completely sealed housing shell and battery door to make it waterproof. It has been certified to be waterproof for up to 3 feet of water for as long as 30 minutes. This will allow people to wear in even while swimming or even taking a shower. The Aquaris is also built to be shockproof as well as dustproof, making it quite a more durable hearing aid that can be used in conditions where conventional hearing devices may fail. The Siemens Aquaris has just been recently introduced by the company at the American Academy for Audiology 2011 conference held in Chicago this week. The release date and the pricing for this new type of hearing aid have not yet been provided though.
