Seagate has recently announced that it has come up with the world’s slimmest portable hard drive to date. It is shipping out its new Seagate GoFlex Slim portable hard drive, by measure, currently the slimmest external hard drive. It beats the previous record holder by just 1mm.
The difference might be quite miniscule, but it means a lot to be considered as a record holder of sorts. The Seagate GoFlex Slim holds on to the title for being an ultra sleek 9mm thick. It is roughly just similar in width to that of an ordinary pencil. But despite its slim profile, the Seagate GoFlex Slim comes with a 7200 rpm drive and with a USB 3.0 interface for faster file transfer speeds. The new Seagate GoFlex Slim portable external hard drive is now available at Seagate for US$100.
