SanDisk Introduces The World’s First 200GB MicroSD Card

SanDisk Ultra 200GB microSD cardIn this Information Age, the need for more and more storage for smart devices ever increases. Not only that, people also look for portable storage along with the need for larger storage capacities. Even the most basic of flash drives today are now measured in gigabytes, a far cry from the megabyte flash drives just several years ago. While computer hard drives have already reached terabyte status, flash drives are slowly pushing their way into the same territory. But for now, increasing GB models are coming out. Just recently, SanDisk has introduced the SanDisk Ultra, the world’s first 200GB microSD card.

With people needing more and more storage space in their smart devices with the collection of more and more information and data of various types, the SanDisk Ultra may have come just at the right time. Many people may have grown tired of buying several microSD cards to switch every time one card reaches full capacity. It can also be inconvenient sometimes changing from one microSD to the other. With the SanDisk Ultra 200GB microSD card, people need not see this as a problem. They only need to have a single card to accommodate all their storage needs. It can hold up to 20 hours of Full HD video. The new SanDisk microSD card is also capable of transfer speeds of up to 90MBPS. That is equivalent to transfer speeds of 1200 photos per minute.

The SanDisk Ultra is also designed for rugged use as it is waterproof, shockproof, able to withstand extreme temperatures and both X-ray and magnet proof. This 200GB card is ideal for many premium Android smartphones and tablets. Once available, the new 200GB microSD will go for an estimated $400 each.
