Samsung STORY Station Plus External Hard Drive

Samsung STORY Station Plus External Hard Drive

Not to be outdone in the external hard drive battle, Samsung introduced its STORY Station Plus, a 3.5-inch, 2TB wonder with external serial ATA (eSATA) for faster data transfer of up to 3.0-gigabits per second.  If you do not have an idea how much space 2 terabytes can offer, representatives of Samsung state that it can store of up to 500,000 MP3 files, 560,000 digital photos, or up to 880 hours of HD videos.  For those who find 2T too much, Samsung STORY Station Plus also comes in one terabyte storage.

Apart from its transfer speed, its low standby power design is this external hard drive’s main selling point, as it can run on a mere 0.1 watts compared to the conventional 2.5W.  It also includes the Samsung Auto Backup to preserve your precious data, SecretZone software for personal data encryption, and SafetyKey for password protection.

The Samsung STORY Station Plus external hard drive will be available globally beginning December 2009, with the 2TB version costing about US$299.  It will include a three-year limited warranty.
