Samsung Launches The Galaxy S4 Zoom

In this world of emerging gadgets, confusion can sometimes set in. With some gadgets having overlapping features, some people cannot decide easily on what device to use for common functions anymore. Smartphones have built-in digital cameras. Digital cameras now have built-in Wi-Fi connectivity for online sharing. Some people can have just a single device but sometimes yearn to have the functions of the other. In order to simplify things, Samsung tries to merge two products into one with its new Galaxy S4 Zoom.

The new Samsung Galaxy S4 Zoom is a unique product the first time you see it. On one side it looks like a smartphone. But flip it on the other side and it becomes a digital camera. A puzzling contraption for some who sees it for the first time, but it makes sense.

The Samsung Galaxy S4 Zoom is a smartphone and digital camera hybrid, if you like to think of it that way. It gives the smartphone a big boost with its high-end digital camera features. The Samsung Galaxy S4 Zoom comes with a 16MP sensor with 10x optical zoom. Its built-in optical image stabilizer allows you to take steady images even if your hands are not. These features make the Galaxy S4 Zoom function like a standard compact digital camera.

But on the other side, it acts as a capable smartphone. It is powered by a 1.5GHz dual core processor and runs on the Android 4.2 Jelly Bean OS. This unit comes with a 1.5GB RAM and 8GB internal memory. It also features a 4.3-inch qHD sAMOLED touchscreen display. The Galaxy S4 Zoom also comes with a 1.9MP front camera. Standard smartphone features include, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and NFC connectivity. There will be both 3G and LTE versions available, depending on market availability. During its announcement, Samsung did not provide a date of availability or pricing details.
