Samsung is in the mood once more for giant smartphones with the Samsung Galaxy Grand 2. Much like its predecessor last year, this 5.25-inch HSPA+ device sports a large 1280 x 720 TFT screen. This time, it comes with a 1.2GHz quad-core processor, 1.5GB of RAM, 8GB of storage (expandable to 64GB with the help of microSD cards), and an 8-megapixel rear camera. Its screen’s 16:9 ratio makes this device ideal for watching movies, reading digital books, and playing games.
Measuring 146.8 x 75.3 x 8.9 millimeters, this gadget weighs 163 grams and comes with a rather large 2600mAh battery (lasting for up to 17 hours of calls and 10 hours of playback). It runs on Android 4.3 Jelly Bean and can accommodate two SIM cards at the same time (ideal for the Asian market).
The Samsung Galaxy Grand 2 will be available in three colors: white, black, and pink. The South Korean company has yet to confirm its exact date of availability, but you can already count United States out of its potential markets.
