Roxxxy: The World’s First Sex Robot

Roxxxy, the world's first sex robot

At the Adult Entertainment Expo recently held in Las Vegas, a New Jersey-based company presented what they claim as the world’s first sex robot.  The lifelike robot, named Roxxxy, stands 5’7", weighs 120 pounds, and contains an anatomically-accurate mechanical skeleton encased in a flesh-like exterior.

Representatives of True Companion, Roxxxy’s manufacturer, explained that the robot is more than just a fancy blowup doll but rather "someone the owner can talk to and relate to."  It is part of the company’s true aim of developing artificial personalities, like a home health care aide for the elderly.

For instance, hold Roxxxy’s hand and she would respond by saying, "I love holding hands with you."  The robot would be able to create phrases out of prerecorded words and sounds, depending on how the owner responds, with the help of a laptop attached to her back.  The laptop, which is Wi-Fi capable, would even receive updates online and expand Roxxxy’s vocabulary and capabilities.

Prospective owners can also choose among several personality types they want out of their Roxxxy.  Frigid Farrah, for instance, is reserved and can be a bit cold; Wild Wendy can talk naughty and dirty; S&M Susan fulfills their bondage and submission fantasies; and the Mature Martha has the "experience" to teach the inexperienced geeks.  The manufacturer can also change Roxxxy’s hair color, cleavage size, race, and other characteristics according to the owner’s preference.

There is, however, the down side.  Roxxxy cannot move on her own, while her voice comes from an internal speaker and her lips do not even move while talking.

Prices will range between US$7000 to $9000, depending on the customization levels.  True Companion also has plans to develop a male counterpart, which they will name Rocky.
