Rest in Peace, LimeWire

A New York court has ordered LimeWire to get rid of the software’s ability to search, upload, and download. In other words, LimeWire is basically dead as we know it. The popular peer-to-peer (P2P) sharing software has been battling the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) in court for several years and this latest ruling has dealt a big blow to the company.

In response, LimeWire is said to be developing new applications that would comply with copyright law. However, the P2P networks that it is tied with, Gnutella and BitTorrent, are still up and running. This means that there are still ways to download content for free, such as through FrostWire.
