Rdio has announced on its Facebook page that it is extending its music streaming service to nine more countries. With the addition of Indonesia, Philippines, Thailand, Singapore, Greece, Croatia, Cyprus, Slovakia, and Sloveina, Rdio’s coverage reaches a grand total of 60 countries. Meanwhile, Spotify currently stands at 56 countries worldwide.
“We’re thrilled to have been able to expand from two to 60 countries in less than four years, while also pairing this rapid growth with regular catalog increases reflective of the amazing and distinct music that impacts the culture of each country we serve,” Rdio CEO Anthony Bay said in a statement.
To celebrate the feat, Rdio even offered a “60 Countries 60 Streams” playlist. While it is a wonderful idea, users from other countries may not be able to play all of its tracks due to copyright restrictions. Bummer.
