Pandigital Takes a Second Take on the Novel E-Book Reader

Pandigital introduces its second attempt to take a cut out of the ebook reader market via the Novel Personal eReader. Unlike the Android-running, LCD-screen Novel of yore, the new Novel features a 6-inch Sipex/AUO ePaper touchscreen, integrated WiFi, access to Barnes & Noble, an accelerometer, and 2GB of storage that can be expanded to 32 GB. The 9.1-ounce device can be used in any environment, including under direct sunlight, making it a convenient tool to read while having a tan.

The new Pandigital Novel Personal eReader PRD06E20WWH8 will be available within the month at retailers across the United States, with a manufacturer’s suggested retail price of US$199.99. Hopefully it goes lower, considering Barnes & Noble’s very own Nook ebook reader costs $149 and the competition with other cheaper readers and even tablet computers.
