Pandigital Launches Own E-Book Reader

There is not much stuff going on in Pandigital recently except priding itself as “the U.S. leader in digital photo frames.” Things may change, however, as the company announces that it has entered the ebook reader market with its first model, the Pandigital Novel.

The Pandigital Novel is a 7-inch e-reader that features integrated Barnes & Noble eBookstore, full-color touchscreen display with 800 x 600 resolution, WiFi connectivity, and other multimedia functions. Because of this partnership with B&N, users can access a catalog of more than one million digital books, newspapers, and magazines, from free classics to subscription titles.

Other usability features include automatic orientation adjustment, a night reading mode where the text and background color invert, built-in dictionary, and virtual keyboard for all that note taking.

The Pandigital Novel will be available beginning in June with a MSRP of US$199.99.
