Three-dimensional (3D) TV is the next stage of television and everybody wants a piece of it, including the tech-savvy Americans. But worry not, because Panasonic and Best Buy partner up to market 3D TV s in the United States. A total of 300 Best Buy stores in major cities will provide a special section just for 3D TV beginning the day after tomorrow, boosting the efforts of Panasonic to become the leading company in this brand-new segment.
To further entice the American consumers, Panasonic is even willing to cut off the Japanese manufacturer’s suggested retail price (MSRP) by about 30%. A 50-inch 3D TV will retail at around US$2,500, while special bundles such as adding a Blu-ray player and 3D glasses into the mix would be an additional $500.
Panasonic aims to sell 1 million 3D TVs around the world this fiscal year, half of which in the United States.
