NTT DoCoMo, Japan’s dominant telephone company, issued a press release claiming that they have successfully conducted the world’s first "molecular delivery system for molecular communication."
According to the article, the company confirmed that they were able to "use synthesized DNA to transport specific molecules through the body" by converting chemical energy into mechanical work.
NTT DoCoMo hopes that this would pave the way for producing "biochips" that will be included in cellphones and be able to "read excitement, emotion, stress, or disease" from human bodily fluids like blood, sweat, and tears.
I do not know if this is something that will make every man happy, but there sure is something unusual about the procedure. We know that Japan not only has been a pioneer in advanced technology, its also known for its out-of-this-world contributions.
I really do wonder if the world would run out of doctors or if people would be lazy enough to visit one. Oh well, I could be wrong though.
