Nokia Asha 210 Comes with WhatsApp Button

Nokia has recently unveiled a budget smartphone that comes with a shortcut button to WhatsApp messaging app. The Nokia Asha 210 is a shameless mopping of the HTC Status and its built-in Facebook Button and will cost about $72 unlocked.

This handset comes with a single- and dual-SIM models and sports a 2-megapixel camera, a mere 64MB of memory (expandable to 64GB using a microSD card), a full QWERTY keyboard, and a 2.4-inch QVGA display. While we can laugh all we want with its basic features, Nokia promises that the single-SIM model has a battery life of up to 46 days on a single charge. Now that’s a lot of WhatsApping!

“We are focused on delivering the best WhatsApp experience to as many people as possible,” WhatsApp co-founder Brian Acton said in a statement. “We are very excited about our partnership with Nokia Asha complementing our strategy of giving people around the world an easy experience when keeping in touch with their friends.”

Its full QWERTY keyboard makes the Nokia Asha 210 a powerful messaging mobile phone, but those who prefer a smartphone experience may want to consider Nokia’s entry-level Lumia phones like the Lumia 505. The Nokia Asha 210 is expected to be launched during the second quarter of this year.
