BenQ is dipping its feet into the smartphone business again as the company unveils two low-priced, quad-core Android smartphones. The two BenQ smartphones are named the BenQ F3 (pictured left), which is powered by a 1.2GHz Snapdragon MT6589 processor, and the BenQ A3 with its 1.2GHz Snapdragon MSM8225Q chip.
Both smartphones sport a 4.5-inch IPS display with 960 x 540 resolution, 1GB of RAM, 4GB of internal storage, a microSD card slot for expanded memory, a 2-megapixel camera at the front, and similar batteries (2100mAh for the F3; 2000mAh for the A3).
The two gadgets have different cameras at its backs. The BenQ F3 has a higher-end, 13-megapixel shooter with f/2.2 and HDR, while the A3 settles for an 8-megapixel camera.
Both BenQ smartphones are already available in Taiwan. The F3 costs NT$7,990 (US$270) sans contract, while the A3 is sold for NT$4,990 (US$200). No details yet regarding potential global expansion.
