Motorola Droid Turbo

Motorola Droid TurboSuccess in the smartphone world can be fleeting. Some makers may introduce a great product that easily catches on with consumers. Sometimes they follow it up with another model that does not live up to expectations. It is not just all about the features or even the screen size. There is that something that attracts to consumers to a particular product that many device makers cannot seem to pinpoint quite effectively. In a way, most makers experiment their way to introducing that next popular device to the public. If they get it just right, they may just have a winner in their hands. Such may be the case for the new Motorola Droid Turbo.

The new Motorola Droid Turbo may be the follow-up to the Moto X smartphone that came out just this year. In a way, the Motorola Droid Turbo is an improvement of the former model. It addressed the shortcomings of Moto X to come up with a better phone feature-wise. The Motorola Droid Turbo features a quad-core 2.7GHz Snapdragon 805 processor, 3GB RAM and an improved 3,900 mAh battery, which Motorola says is good for up to 48 hours of continuous use. It also has a 5.2-inch Quad HD screen and a vastly improved 21MP rear camera to accompany a 2MP front facing camera. It is quite a monster in terms of performance and features. What might somehow be a letdown is its single speaker. Although it can play audio quite well, there is no way to distinguish left and right sounds unlike the usual pair of speakers on other Motorola phones. The design of the phone also does not stand out that well. But other than that, the Motorola Droid Turbo is worth checking out. It is available exclusively at Verizon Wireless for $200 on a 2-year contract. As a stand-alone phone, it will cost you around $600.
