There was recently news regarding the demise of the Nokia brand when it comes to handsets and smartphones. The word going around is that Microsoft may be taking over the brand to try and revive this part of the business, noting that the software giant bought the Finnish company for a sizable sum a few years ago. Now, the reports are confirmed as Microsoft recently announced the new Microsoft Lumia 535.
The Microsoft Lumia 535 was recently announced as the first Lumia to depart from the previous Nokia branding. With the new Microsoft moniker, the company aims to try to improve the marketing of the new Windows Phone handsets. One benefit this phone may carry is the Office Suite that comes pre-installed with the software. Users can directly use the popular Word, Excel and PowerPoint programs right from their Lumia 535 phones. Skype-integration will also help make video calls more convenient for Lumia 535 users. The smartphone also comes with Cortana, Microsoft’s version of a personal virtual assistant competing with Apple’s Siri.
The Microsoft Lumia 535 features a 5-inch qHD touchscreen display. The smartphone also comes with a 5MP front facing camera. The Microsoft Lumia 535 will also come with a Dual SIM variant with it comes out in selected European markets this month. The new Microsoft Lumia 535 is expected to retail around 110 Euros when it comes out.
