Can’t get enough of this year’s Olympic mania? Relive the recent 2008 Beijing Olympic Games with Mario and Sonic, two of the most popular icons in the world of video games. The pair have been rivals for a long time, and they join forces in Mario & Sonic at the Olympic Games. Developed for the Nintendo DS and the Wii, this game also marks the first time Sega and Nintendo join forces.
In Mario & Sonic at the Olympic Games, gamers compete in Olympic events in environments that are based on the official venues of the 2008 Beijing Olympiad. Mario, Sonic, and some well known supporting characters from the wonderful worlds of both Mario and Sonic (Luigi, Peach, Daisy, Knuckles, Tails, Yoshi, and more) compete against each other, all eyeing for that elusive Olympic gold medal.
The innovation in the DS and Wii control systems will allow gamers to race Mario, Sonic, and pals down the 100m track or in the swimming pool, perform the perfect somersaults and spins on the trampoline, engage in exciting rallies in table tennis, or hit the bullseye in archery. Other events include long jump, high jump, fencing, rowing, shooting, and many more. Mario & Sonic at the Olympic Games is definitely a must for all Nintendo and DS, as well as Olympics fans.
