Although no official announcement has been made, the Magellan SE4 navigation unit has appeared in Best Buy and it is available for purchase. For only US$119.99, you get a 4.3-inch touch screen, as well as NAVTEQ maps of 48 contiguous states in the US, Hawaii, and Puerto Rico. Its navigation software includes over six million points of interest, text-to-speech capability, and turn-by-turn prompts, while the unit itself has a battery life of up to three hours.
It’s a good thing Magellan pulled the price for up to $60. With the introduction of Google’s free navigation software, the GPS market has to contend with the seemingly unfair competition.
