LG has introduced its upcoming smartwatch that runs on Google’s operating system for wearable devices. In its newly launched microsite, the Android Wear-based LG G Watch displays some of its main features.
The smartwatch will be resistant to both water and dust. It comes with two color options: Stealth Black and Champagne Gold. The company also claims that LG G Watch sports a screen that is “always on.” How it would stay on after the battery is drained, or whether it comes with a sleep option for users who do not want a smart device that is “always one,” LG has yet to elaborate.
The smartwatch also prominently features Google’s voice search, one of the standard features in Android Wear. Users can utter “OK Google” to start voice commands.
The LG G Watch microsite does not contain details on pricing and release, although Mashable reported that the company has said the smartwatch will become available in the second quarter of this year.
