Two LG 4K TV Sets Launched

Since 3D TV did not take off as companies would have hoped, they are trying to pin their hopes on the “next big thing” in home entertainment: ultra high-definition 4K TV sets. After Sony, Samsung, and Toshiba launched their respective big TVs, it is LG’s turn to bring out the guns with two LG 4K TV sets.

The 55- and 65-inch LG 4K TV sets are now available in the United States. They are priced at $6,999 and $7,999, respectively. In comparison, Sony’s 65-inch 4K TV costs $6,999, while Samsung’s 65-incher costs around $7,9000 in South Korea.

Both TV sets fall under the LG LA9700 series and sport ultra high-def resolution, or 3840 x 2160 pixels. That’s 8.3 million pixels per frame. Other interesting specs include a 178-degree viewing angle, NANO FULL LED backlighting technology, and a 4.1-channel surround sound system wherein its front-facing speaker bar can be hidden from view if needed.

And if those LG 4K TV sets are too cheap for you, just bear in mind that they also have an gigantic 84-inch 4K TV that they price for a low, low, low price of only $19,999.

With such great prices, I won’t be surprised if 4K TV sets would capture the public’s attention, much like how 3D TV did.
