Lenovo kicks off its CES 2014 campaign with a tablet that does not sacrifice productivity. The Lenovo ThinkPad 8 is geared towards students and professionals who take their work while on the go.

This slim Windows 8.1 tablet comes preloaded with Microsoft Office and with an array of useful ports for connecting to an external monitor, smart TV, or keyboard. It measures 8.3 inches and features a 1,920 x 1,200 resolution display, a quad-core Intel Bay Trail processor with 2GB of RAM, and up to 128GB of expandable internal storage (which includes a microSD card slot).

The Lenovo ThinkPad 8 also sports a 10-megapixel rear camera with flash, a 2-megapixel front-facing camera, a sleek machine-cut aluminum, and a pair of stereo speakers with Doly Home Theater.

Lenovo’s so-called “first 8-inch business tablet” will be available in late January, in WiFi-only and 4G LTE/3G models. These gadgets start at $449.
