Leapster Explorer Allows Online Play for Your Children

Leapfrog, a maker of educational devices for kids, introduces the Leapster Explorer, a handheld gaming device for children between four and nine years old. This toy proves more than 40 different learning and play experiences, not to mention online gaming.

The handheld device features a high-resolution touch screen display, a click-in camera accessory, and access to Leaplet Learning Apps to download ebooks and videos. The range of learning provided by the games vary from literacy skill-building, to practicing phonetics, to mathematical skills, to animals, and geographic landscapes.

Meanwhile, the LeapFrog Connect Application enables kids to access online play. Children can convert their Leapster Explorer gameplay accomplishments into LeapWorld tokens, which enables them to create a character, build a home, and customize both.

The Leapster Explorer is now available for pre-order with an expected launch in July, costing about US$69.99 Twelve cartridge games and 18 Leaplet Learning Apps will also be launched, with more games and apps to come by the year’s end. Cartridge games cost $24.99, while a pack of two Leaplet Learning Apps goes at $14.99.
