Several photos of Microsoft ’s upcoming “digital journal” called the Courier have been leaked and many tech reviewers like what they see.
The Courier is called a digital journal instead of a tablet partly because the device actually folds in half. Each side is 5 x 7 inches, making the whole device measuring at about 10 x 7 inches or just the same size as Apple’s iPad . The main difference between the two is that because the one-pound Courier can be folded, it can conveniently be carried around in a pocket.
It also runs on Windows 7 OS with Tegra 2 processor and can be used using both touch and stylus, making the Courier an ideal tool for handwriting small memos. Whether the Courier can easily distinguish handwriting, however, is yet to be seen.
Expect the Microsoft Courier to arrive on late 2010.
