KDDI, Japan’s second largest mobile carrier, greets the final quarter of 2010 with 19 new handsets, one of which stands out because of its transparent design.
The phone, aptly called X-Ray, features a 3-inch LCD display, a LED sub-display with 7 x 102 resolution, an 8-megapixel camera, 1GHz Snapdragon CPU, a digital TV tuner, and a microSDHC slot. All of these is encased in a transparent cover, enabling users to see what is inside the phone.
Design-wise, it looks good, but I do not think the novelty will last.
The X-Ray phone by KDDI will go on sale in Japan beginning next month, costing US$490.
