Just Like Nook, Kindle Will Have Lending Features

While Nook users have been lending e-books they have purchased to others for about three months, it is only now that Amazon will be including such feature to its Kindle ebook readers. The company announces that Kindle users will be allowed to lend books they have bought to other Kindle users for a 14-day period. Once the time period expires, the lent e-book can no longer be accessed.

However, this feature will not be available to all titles, as it will be up to individual publishers and rights holders to decide whether to allow e-book lending among Kindle readers.

The new feature is said to become available “later this year,” according to representatives of Amazon.
