Apple Delays iPhone 5S launch.

It is July already, but we have not seen Apple unveiling the iPhone 5S. Reports have claimed that Apple would have launched the new smartphone by May or June, but that did not happen. Others claim it would be on September or Octoboer, but according to the Commercial Times, we would have to wait longer. The Taiwanese publication has reported that Apple has delayed the iPhone 5S launch until the end of 2013 in an effort to change the screen into a bigger 4.3-inch retina display.

Spokespersons for Apple based in Taipei and Tokyo, as well as those for Apple’s semiconductor suppliers, did not return calls from the press asking for comment on the matter.

Apple delays iPhone 5S launch.

Apple, one of the largest tech companies, has yet to release a successor since iPhone 5 was launched last year. Although the iPhone 5 remains the California-based company’s top-selling smartphone, Samsung has overtaken Apple to become the overall smartphone leader as the Korean company offers a variety of smartphones at different price points.

Aside from the delayed iPhone 5S launch, Commercial Times has also reported that a cheaper version of the iPhone is expected to be launched by the end of third quarter, adding that chips for the Apple’s first budget phone started shipping in June. The report adds that Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Co. may also deliver chips for the iPhone 5S next month.
