iPad-Only Magazine Launches Today

Media mogul Rupert Murdoch unveils his latest publication called The Daily, but unlike his previous titles, this magazine is only published on the iPad. The Daily pledges to offer “the best of traditional journalism” with “the best of contemporary technology.” It features a lot of multimedia content and functions, such as enabling users to flip the pages of the app like a magazine or view the whole issue in carousel mode.

The magazine also includes audio versions, utilizing a professional voice over instead of the robotic computer voice, as well as video overviews of all content in case you are too lazy to read the whole thing. Readers can also share the content to Twitter or Facebook. It will also feature app reviews with links leading to the App Store.

The Daily is now available in the App Store at US$0.99 per week or $39.99 per year. Plus, if rumors are true, the first two weeks will be on the house thanks to Verizon.
