It has been rumored that iOS 8 will have healthcare-related apps and services, but it is only recently when 9to5Mac has gotten hold of screen shots that not only shows how the Apple Healthbook might look like, but also what it can do.
The iOS 8 is allegedly being built for future Apple iPhones, although it can work with the iPhone 5S. The upcoming mobile operating system will likely be unveiled before 2014 ends.
According to the leaked images, the Healthbook consists of “cards” labeled as Emergencies, Bloodwork, Heart Rate, Hydration, Blood Pressure, Oxygen Saturation, Respiratory Rate, Sleep, Blood Sugar, Activity Nutrition, and Weight.
Some of the information the user provides in some of the cards will appear alongside the card title, such as your weight and blood pressure. Data will be collected from within the iPhone through third-party accessories wirelessly linked to the mobile device.
It is also interesting to note that Healthbook will be tracking the user’s blood glucose levels, a first from a smartphone. This also taps into iPhone users who have diabetes.
Another card worth looking is Emergency, which lists down important details and information about the user, as well as whether the user is an organ donor.
