Engadget has revealed what is supposed to be an internal document that compares the specifications of HP Slate with those of the Apple iPad. With the looks of it, seems like more discerning techies should let the iFad hype settle down and see how HP’s tablet computer might actually be the better choice in the long run.
For starters, the Windows 7-based device will have an 8.9-inch capacitive multitouch display with 1024 x 600 resolution, a 1.6GHz Atom Z530 processor with UMA graphics set and an accelerator for an effective 1080p video playback, 32GB of flash storage, and 1GB of RAM.
But the fun part does not end there, as it contains stuff that the iPad does not: a camera, a USB port, a SIM card slot for an optional 3G modem, and HDMI out. The HP Slate will have a base price of US$549 once available.
