HP Recalls Laptop Batteries in China

Hewlett-Packard Co, one of the world’s largest PC companies, has announced that they are recalling 15,000 laptop batteries distributed in China because of a danger that they may overheat.

According to HP China, they will replace the batteries that are being used in HP Pavilion, Compaq Presario, and HP Compaq, for free.  As these batteries are said to overheat easily, they pose a fire hazard.  The batteries that will be replaced  should be manufactured between late 2007 to early 2008.  Earlier, HP has recalled over 70,000 laptop batteries earlier this month.
