HP EliteBook 6930p Notebook

If you belong to one of the top laptop makers, sooner or later you are bound to create a laptop model that appears so elite.  HP did just that with their line of EliteBooks, which stands above its predecessors with its metallic look, up-to-date Centrino 2 parts, and other features that makes it enable to withstand the pressures of business use.

The HP EliteBook 6930p is what the makers call a "business-rugged" laptop, as it passes several military standards for usage while surrounded with dust and as well as high temperature.  However, the laptop does not make enough military standards to be considered as semi-rugged or fully rugged.  The 6930p can withstand accidental falls with its shock-mounted hard drive and has a scratch-resistant surface.  Even its keyboard is lightly textured to resist wear and tear.

At 5.3 pounds, the 6930p is light and portable yet has a bigger 56-Wh battery for that power demands.  Its 14-inch LED widescreen has resolution options of up to 1,440 by 990.  The EliteBook 6930p also comes with three USB ports, a FireWire port, a built-in webcam, and a fingerprint reader.  Its dual-layer DVD burner can be scapped out and replaced with a second hard drive.  With the integration of Intel’s new Centrino 2 platform, this business laptop is as current as it gets.  It has a top-of-the-line processor in Intel Core 2 Duo T9600 and 2GB memory that is expandable up to 8GB.

The EliteBook 6930p has its shares of disadvantages, as it unable to switch in between graphics (a feature that other contemporary laptops possess), it has a short battery life, and it does not have either a Blu-ray burner or Blu-ray read-only options.  Overall, the HP EliteBook 6930p may appear to be "elite" with its sleek look, its internal features leaves it wanting.
