Rockstar Games has announced that Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas will be released for mobile devices. The game is remastered to include dynamic and detailed shadows, as well as “greater draw distance, an enriched colour palette, plus enhanced character and car models”. The company promises these improvements would make the game the “best-looking version of San Andreas yet”.
The mobile version of GTA: San Andreas will also feature touch-based controls, which includes contextual control options that would display buttons only when the player needs them, as well as three different control layouts for driving and moving around the city. Its checkpoint system is also updated for a much easier game progression.
Originally released for PlayStation 2 in October 2004, Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas has received generally positive reviews. It is considered as one of the best games ever released on PS2.
The mobile version will be available in iOS, Android, and Windows Phone devices this December. Price will be revealed in the “weeks ahead”, but we suspect it will cost around the $4 to $5 range.
And before you ask, we doubt this game will have a “Hot Coffee mod”.
