Kevin Rose, the guy behind Digg, posted a tweet suggesting that Google is working on a social networking platform aimed at competing against Facebook. According to “his very credible source,” it will be called “Google Me.” He has since deleted the message, but thank God for Google Cache.
This rumor has also been “confirmed” by Adam D’Angelo, the former CTO of Facebook. Citing “reliable sources,” the Google Me project is indeed real, which indicates that “Buzz wasn’t enough” to fight Facebook’s growing presence.
So is Google Me a real thing? The last time we checked, we are way past April 1.
