Google and Facebook are up in arms again. An update for Google’s Android Gingerbread mobile OS would eliminate all Facebook contacts in address books of Android-powered smartphones.
Google alleges that Facebook has been snubbing the former’s data-sharing rules for far too long, largely because the data contained in Facebook contacts could not be exported from the handset. The social networking giant still controls that data even though it is visible in address books of Android phones.
