Among the many technologies that are getting more and more popular nowadays, 3D seems to be at the forefront. We are now looking at many devices sporting 3D features as more and more people are clamoring for it. Aside from 3D movies, we now have 3D TV’s and even 3D features in smartphones. And now, we will even be seeing 3D content for kids in the future, thanks to Mattel’s partnership with Google to come up with the new View Master.
The View Master is a classic toy that is given that 3D update and more. The classic one provides kids with 3D views of images on the provided film reel that you put into the device. But the new View Master can provide more than that. It can now provide 360-degree photospheres for kids to marvel at, thanks to Google Cardboard features added into the device. By putting a compatible smartphone armed with the required app inside the View Master and the View Master Experience Reel, kids may be able to explore 360-degree views of famous places and landmarks, nature and even the planets. It is like going to a field trip and exploring the different scenes right in your own home.
The new View Master is easy to use and even features interactive functions that will make each View Master exploration a learning experience by discovering fun facts as well. Kids are not only limited to explore places here on earth but can also experience virtual reality views of planets as well. It is a nostalgic toy giving kids a new means of experiencing what their grandparents probably enjoyed in the late 1930’s and beyond. But this time, kids get the virtual reality experience through it. The new View Master is expected to be available sometime this fall for $30. Experience Reels will be sold separately for $15.
