Garmin Forerunner 310XT

Garmin seems making strides in offering various ways in which GPS technology can be used. Who would think that it can be used to help athletes train? Well, with training devices such as the Forerunner 310XT, Garmin is truly adding variety to their list of gadgets.

The Garmin Forerunner 310Xt is a training device, GPS enabled that can easily become a valuable tool for a tri-athlete. The device looks like a common wrist watch but can do more than just tell time. The Garmin allows its users to gauge and measure their performance whether on water, on the bike or while running. With the Garmin Forerunner 310XT being water resistant up to 50 meters, swimmers will be able to time their laps using the device. When its time to go up on a bike, the Garmin 310XT can also easily be fixed on a special bike mount so users may still be able to monitor their performance. And it does quite well using GPS technology that also helps track a user’s position as well as distance, pace and even heart rate.

The Garmin Forerunner is equipped with ANT+ wireless technology to allow the Forerunner 310XT to be connected to other optional equipment such as a heart rate monitor, a foot pod or a cadence sensor.  This technology also allows sending information and data of your performance wirelessly and automatically into your PC whenever the Forerunner 310XT is in range. Now that is an indispensable training tool to have around. It’s available at Garmin for US$350.
