Fujifilm FinePix XP200

With compact digital cameras now competing with smartphones to be the gadget of convenience for taking photos, the former might be at a losing end.  Considering that people have their smartphones always handy does not help things. The only way that compact digital cameras continue to appeal to users is by having features that smartphones do not have yet. One of them is the ability to take pictures in just about any type of condition. This is where digital cameras like the new Fujifilm FinePix XP200 may have an advantage over today’s smartphones.

The new Fujifilm FinePix XP200 is a compact digital camera designed for tough conditions. It is able to capture those photos in conditions that no ordinary smartphone cannot. It is built to be waterproof, able to take photos up to 15 meters underwater. It is also shockproof and can take accidental drops of up to 2 meters high. It is also dustproof as well as resistant to freezing temperatures of up to -10 degrees C.

The Fujifilm FinePix XP200 features a 16MP CMOS sensor and a 5x optical zoom lens and a 3-inch TFT color LCD monitor. It also comes with an optical image stabilizer, high-speed continuous shooting at 10fps with full resolution as well as advanced filters to provide artistic shooting features for your photos. The camera only weighs 232 grams, including its battery and memory card. The Fujifilm FinePix XP200 is expected to come out by the end of April. Pricing details not yet provided.
